My KTSA airshift is now 11am 'til 1pm

Off

Talk show hosts aren't really qualified to judge their own performances. There have been days when one of my fellow KTSA hosts would complain that he had a bad day, when in fact the show had been pretty good. Conversely, some of us feel we have had a great program until we listen to a tape of it, and then we're devastated and disappointed. We can't judge ourselves.

That said, I feel that my programs lately have been pretty crappy and boring and that I need to put serious time and effort into show prep. Therefore I'm going to ignore the hungry demands of this website for an unspecified length of time and concentrate on my primary duty-- the airshift. This site, on average, eats up three or four hours a day.

It is nice, in some small way, to draw two or three million hits per month... but truth be told, there's not really anything in that for me beyond being impressed by a number on paper. The site makes me no money. (I have been told from time to time that there is one local executive who wishes I would promote the KTSA.com website instead of my own. Perhaps this will brighten that fellow's day.)

So I'm taking some time off from this site. Maybe a day, maybe a decade, I have no idea.
