YOUR CITY COUNCIL AT WORK
ITEM 10 on the San Antonio City Council agenda today is the purchase of a half-dozen treadmills at a cost of $6,245.75 each. I helpfully suggested to councilman Art Hall that for six grand plus, a treadmill should also perform some sort of sexual-gratification function AND be able to get you onto the internet. Don't waste brain time wondering whether the city will buy them. Of course we will. Why? Because the city is very careful with our tax money!

YOUR FEDERAL GOV'T AT WORK
US agencies 'dead wrong' on Iraq WMDs (AP) -- In a scathing report, a presidential commission said Thursday that America's spy agencies were "dead wrong" in most of their judgments about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction before the war and that the United States knows "disturbingly little" about the threats posed by many of the nation's most dangerous adversaries.
