believes the controversial documents on President Bush's National
Guard service are fake and said it could cost Dan Rather down the
road. "I'm surprised at their reluctance to concede they're
wrong," Rooney said, referring to CBS brass.
Burkett has a history of attacks on Bush
But Burkett's allegations have changed over the years, and have
been dismissed as baseless by former Guard colleagues, state legislators
and others. Even Burkett has admitted some of his allegations are
leads in one poll, tied in another "After so
long when the polls were deadlocked no matter what happened, now
we have a situation where voter opinion is unsettled," said
Andrew Kohut, director of the Pew Research Center for the People
& the Press. "There's a lot of uncertainty and you're going
to have more variation in the polls than we've had in the past."

is no time to channel Al Gore With only a month and a half before
the election, the question is not whether George Bush showed up
for National Guard duty 30 years ago, but whether John Kerry will
show up for the rest of the campaign.

That Clear Channel spokesman was absolutely right. I mean, can you
imagine someone making a statement that has such great repercussions,
finding out later that it may not be true, and then deliberately,
without any remorse, failing to admit to America that he was wrong
and that perhaps he should have investigated the information more
thoroughly before repeating it? Really, just who does Dan Rather
think he is? The president of the United States? At least Dan Rather's
misstatement didn't lead to war. Oh the irony. Martha
How come all these people that are after Dan Rather's head are the
same ones that can believe that George W. Bush can be misled, but
yet Dan can't? Doesn't that tell you who the feeble minded one is?
Hi Brad: I listen to your show when I can, my fiancée listens
to you all the time. . In my opinion, if people actually took time
to learn about the world, our government, our president and this
war, they would not be voting for bushy. But nobody has time
to do that. I am a busy, self-employed lawyer .I really enjoy your
show and I am grateful you do what you do and you are so educated
about all the issues, and that you try to educate other people in
our community. THANK YOU. Sincerely,
Brad, I am a long time listener and admirer of yours for your capacity
to discuss BOTH sides of issues. For a long time, it was lonely
in Talk Show land for an American who is not a Republican. . On
the Rather issue---to me it is wrong to try and destroy him. It
would be like Liz Ruiz given a paper to read on the News and finding
later that the KTSA brass failed to check its content properly and
putting the whole blame on HER. It is not fair. Love your show.
