Swing states Fla., Ohio and Mo. still up for grabs John Kerry is ahead by 5 points among likely voters in Ohio, a state that George W. Bush won by 4 points in 2000. And in Florida, which was a virtual tie four years ago, President Bush is now ahead by 4 points. Missouri, the nation's most reliable bellwether, is even.

Kerry to highlight his combat service

NY Times editorial
Abu Ghraib, Whitewashed
The editorial says what I was saying last week

email

Dear Brad,
What whitewash? Surely, the same administration which brought us WMD would be telling the truth when it stated prisoner abuse was caused by a few bad apples. After all, everyone knows these troops were working in a vacuum without their superiors being aware of their activities.
And, we know that "Dubya", who is the soldier's friend, would be mortified if he thought a few lower ranked troops were being thrown to the wolves.
I sincerely believe you are mistaken about there being a whitewash. It is closer to being a black hole into which truth, decency, and fair play disappear.
When you think about it, what are a few enlisted men and NCO's compared to someone's career which depends on the administration? The choice is obvious.

I'm currently stationed in Germany ... I sent a link ... to my father, a plumber for George Plumbing who I believe is a long-time listener to your show, and he requested as a favor that I forward this story on to you as well.

Foster refers to a link that has some of its photos missing, so I have substituted THIS LINK which tells the whole story.

I can't say that personally I'm a fan of Bush ... my personal opinion that he is at least far better than the current Democratic candidate who joins a long line of Democratic candidates who I could not and can not respect even as human beings having tried to look over them. I'm sure you're rather busy with a great wealth of e-mails however and the rantings and ravings of a Senior Airmen would probably take up a good amount of that time.

Brad,
How about a ten foot poll on whether or not your website visitors register to linked sites that require it? My guess would be not many.
James C.

James, I don't like registering, either, but there are no alternative links that contain the same stories. I keep the link to BugMeNot.com in my upper-left column. It gets you past passwords a good percent of the time.
email
Actually I solve the problem of the registered links very often by taking the headline in your column and pasting it in the search engine for Yahoo. It can very often find a non-registering link to the same story.
My problem with the registering is that there is no standard format that seems to work where I can use some mundane login for all sites, thus I have to keep a registery for these sites which is not worth the effort.
Gary B
Yeah, that's another effective technique. I use it my own self. My list of User names and Passwords in about two single-spaced pages long now. Ridiculous.
