San Antonio arsons may be hate crimes

Dr. Condoleezza Rice's opening statement to the 9-11 Commission

Account of broad Shiite revolt contradicts White House stand United States forces are confronting a broad-based Shiite uprising that goes well beyond supporters of one militant Islamic cleric who has been the focus of American counterinsurgency efforts, United States intelligence officials said Wednesday. That assertion contradicts repeated statements by the Bush administration and American officials in Iraq.

Anti-US uprising widens in Iraq In Fallujah, an epicenter of the Sunni resistance, U.S. Marines attempting to root out insurgents pushed toward the center of the city, drawing heavy rifle and grenade fire.
The Casualties

Rotation reassessed as toll spikes U.S. forces have suffered their bloodiest week in Iraq since just before the fall of Baghdad a year ago, reporting 40 combat deaths in the seven days from March 31 to April 6.

Militiamen control parts of 3 Iraq cities Supporters of Shiite cleric put up stiff resistance; Gunmen kidnap 3 Japanese and 8 South Korean civilians.

POWs not entitled to Iraqi funds, Justice says Justice Department lawyers argued Wednesday that President Bush's decision to remove Iraq from the list of terrorism-sponsoring states nullified a $653 million judgment awarded to former U.S. prisoners of war tortured by the Iraqi military during the 1991 Persian Gulf War.

'Pig Book' slams Congress for 630 wasteful projects

Hi Brad,
Was visiting my sister outside of Waco and saw these. Had no idea they even existed. She said that some students at A&M engineered these "Aggie Bonnets" and sold the seeds. They are quiet pretty. If you look closely, there are also Hybrids (deep purple with red at base of petal). Enjoy!

  • If a Mosque is used as an ambush site, it needs to taken out.
  • No matter how we got there, we should finish the job because I don't want our people in uniform to be known as quitters.
  • Personally I feel "puff" should be used more frequently! [Ed. C-130 gunship]
  • There's no way anybody but the commanders in the field can answer that question. Well maybe John Kerry. He's got an answer for everything.
  • Iraq is looking more and more like Vietnam. Our boys are dying for a people whose fundamental religious precepts are against western civilization. We should get out as soon as possible and not give them one thin dime of support. Our price for getting rid of Saddam should be unlimited FREE access to their oil. Thanks for letting me vent. A Vietnam Veteran.
  • We didn't need more troops because, hey---the Iraquis welcomed us with open arms! That was another line that Bush parroted in the lead up to the war. WHAT A JOKE!
  • Would more troops really help?
