Usually I clean out the day's headline links between 10 and midnight and load an abbreviated page for overnight. New stuff is normally uploaded between 8 and 10 a.m. and stays all day and evening.
Sometimes I add during the day but only occasionally. Weekends don't get much updating if any at all.
Previous headline links are always available (by month) in the Headline Archive in this column, or you can keyword search the entire site with the button

Folks, I apologize— I'll miss today's show. I'm sick. I almost never miss work. Doing so makes me feel like a slacker.

Haunting reality triggers Yates' spiraling return to psychosis

A month ago, the woman who drowned her five children in a bathtub in their Clear Lake City home because she believed she was possessed by the devil seemed to be edging back from mental illness. Andrea Yates was also inexorably becoming lucid enough to be haunted by what she had done.

email
Brad: I just got a call that was a recording for a company that consolidates credit card bills. I promptly called that number and told them I was on the National do not call list. They said they are exempt because they are a non-profit organization. I suspect that someone in the company is making money and anyone that declares themselves a non-profit company can make calls. Any comments?

Hi Brad!
It's been a while since I emailed you. My husband and I met you and your lovely wife Carole at Steve W's house in September. That was a very pleasant evening and Steve is quite the cook, isn't he?
I am glad to see that you are reading William Rivers Pitt. He's one of my favorite internet writers. Back when I did email you, I was always sending some rather scathing reports about our president, Bush. I am pleased to see that you are the open minded person that I thought you were and are at least able to see that there might be two sides to an issue.
I have for you today an interesting site [which] graphically depicts what that 87 billion would look like.
http://www.crunchweb.net/87billion/
Anyway, when I saw that, I thought it had Brad Messer written all over it.
Hope you find it useable. I still think our president is wrong, wrong, wrong on very many things. We'll see how the future comes.
See Ya!

Thanks, Virginia. This is a sample image from a series that progresses to the visualization of $87-billion, the amount President Bush wants to spend in Iraq in the near future. Click it to see the whole thing.
