The big to-do over our tank shooting into the Palestine Hotel is 'way too much hot air over not very much.
Fighting from a tank is Adrenalin City; confusion, uncertainty, urgency, lots and lots of kill-you-dead danger.
Asking a tank crew to endure that, and be perfect at all times, is asking the impossible. In the heat of a live-ammo, this ain't no simulation War, stuff happens. Tanks shoot hotels. Pilots take out friendlies. We have no foolproof friend-or-foe ID system.
Our men are doing their best, and their best is excellent and it's certainly good enough for me. Standing behind your troops means not getting on their back.
