Dear Troops:
My Grandfather landed at Normandy. My Father was a Marine in the Viet Nam war. My Uncle served on the USS Kitty Hawk in the Gulf war and on the USS Nimitz as well. My Father now serves in the National Guard. You are the heros. You went to war without questions or doubts because your President has deemed it necessary and you have faith. This makes you the most devoted people of all. Do not pay attention to any negative comments or views directed at you and the horrible things you are enduring for the sake of the Iraqi people. We are so sorry that your eyes had to see first hand what war entails. US military forces will have the burden of protecting our shores from terrorism from this day forward and to think that the people not offering their support to you and well wishes in a time of need overseas are the same people who will expect you to protect them when the same type of atrocities occur here in our home land, which you will do unconditionally and without doubts or questions. Keep the faith and stay safe. You are above ignorance.
Sincerely, Michelle/San Antonio, TX

Dear Troops,
You are in my thoughts and prayers daily. What you are going through must
be very scary and perhaps lonely. May God bless you and keep you safe and
strong.

To our Troops:
Let there be no doubt in your minds or hearts that the vast majority of Americans support you, your mission, and your Commander-In-Chief. When the war started, many, many American flags appeared on cars and buildings, much like after 9/11; they are everywhere. As I drive to work each day, there are large yellow ribbons on the trees that line the half-mile as I enter the company's property. As retired military, I know what you are going through and wish I could be there with you. I know you will watch each other's backs. Those who aren't useful idiots can easily see that you are conducting your mission professionally and with care to avoid civilian casualties. Know this, we support you with our prayers and our voices. There have been many pro-troops/pro-American rallies in America. We salute those, including family members, who have made great sacrifice. We are very proud of you. Be safe. Come home. We will be here when you return and will give you the welcome you so deserve.
Jim

Keep up the great work your doing for our country. We are behind you all
the way. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

To Our Troops,
My family & I salute you!!  We are proud of you for serving your country and doing your duty.
As a retired Cavalry Scout and Viet Nam veteran I would like to give you a few words of encouragement:

1.) Don't concern yourself worrying about people protesting the war, because that is the politician's concern.  Rest assured, the majority of Americans support you in efforts.

2.) Be proud of yourself, because you are doing your duty and performing the tasks you are trained for.  Although you are enduring the hardships of war most Americans will never know or understand, you can be proud in the knowledge you have the intestinal fortitude to do what it takes to do your soldier's duty.

3.) Concentrate on the mission at hand and take care of your buddies.  Once the mission is complete, you can look forward to returning to home and family.  Your country will welcome you back with open arms and the appreciation you deserve.

My family and I keep you in our thoughts, hearts and prayers daily.  We pray for your safety and speedy return.  God Bless you for all your sacrifices.
